Prior to consulting, Jon worked as a field engineer at a start-up structural engineering firm. By necessity, he took on the role of business/financial analyst for his firm. Within a few years, he was simultaneously serving as his firm’s controller/chief financial officer and as a project manager for several major lift bridge rehabilitations. He also served on the firm's board of directors. During his tenure the firm grew from a local Wisconsin firm to a nationwide company, navigating the buy-out of the founder and two additional owners, and undergoing a complete rebranding. He was personally responsible for implementing an enterprise resource planning system, organizing and leading the strategic planning task force, and redesigning and streamlining the company’s significant processes and internal controls.
